Tee Up with WISE: Golf & Networking

New to Golf or want to sharpen your skills before the next Golf outing? Join us for a night of networking at the Links at Interbay.

Business deals get done, connections are made and promotions are offered on the golf course. Join us as we learn the basics and work on our swings at the driving range.We will have instructors to help you perfect your swings and give you useful tips to improve your drive. This event is for all levels, so whether you have never picked up a club or have your pro tour card, all are welcome. Make sure to wear something comfortable for swinging a club.

Intersectionality in Sports Dialogue

In the second of a series of dialogues, join the WISE Seattle's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in exploring intersectionality in sports.

Jumping off a Player's Tribune article written by Megan Rapinoe, attendees will work through a series of guided questions with the WISE Seattle Diversity & Inclusion Committee.The evening will start with a welcome and recognition of AAPI and Jewish American Heritage Month followed by guiding questions based on Megan Rapinoe's piece for a discussion and open dialogue.

Attendees are asked to read the article ahead of time, especially the following key segments:

Our goal of the event is not to become experts on finances but to feel more comfortable and confident in asking tough questions to manage our personal finances.

In the first of a series of dialogues, join the WISE Seattle's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in exploring representation in sports.

Jumping off a dialogue between Seattle sports legends Russell Wilson and Sue Bird, attendees will work through a series of guided questions with the WISE Seattle Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Sports Media Career Journey Panel

This month, we're sitting down with three of the biggest names in Seattle sports media: Angie Mentink, Shannon Drayer, and Elise Woodward.

Angie Mentink is an anchor for Root Sports Northwest and co-anchor of the television program Mariners Live. Shannon Drayer is a sports journalist who covers the Seattle Mariners for 710 AM KIRO, the ESPN Radio. Elise Woodward is a sports broadcaster at the Pac-12 Network, IMG Sports Network, and Seattle Storm.

The three journalists will come together to talk about their individual career journeys, their experience working in sports in Seattle, and more. The roundtable discussion will feature live Q&A throughout so bring your questions. We'll conclude with networking at the end of the session. Open to members and non-members.

Poker PowHER

Virtual game night is about to get even better!

Join us for a special two-hour Poker PowHER introductory workshop on Tuesday, September 8th from 6-8 pm PST. Together, we will learn the basic skills needed to confidently sit at the poker table, including hand strength, bet sizing, when to hold, and when to fold.

You will leave with basic game knowledge and confidence to sit at the table. It's time women had a seat - and a chance to win - at every table!

No previous poker experience is necessary. We will be learning the basics of the game in small groups with an instructor and then playing a few games to build up your confidence and skills.

Poker Powher is a women-led initiative to teach poker to one million women. They aim to “flip the table” on the male-dominated game and empower players beyond poker with the skills taught through the game: discipline, confidence, risk-tolerance, and strategic thinking.
