WISE Seattle Launches Annual Women of Inspiration Awards


In the inaugural year of the program WISE Seattle partners with Seattle Sports as an exclusive media partner to shine light on local women

Seattle, WA. - (May 12, 2022) - The Seattle Chapter of WISE which stands for women in sports and events, is looking to recognize a woman in our community with the launch of the Women of Inspiration Award. The Women of Inspiration (WOI) program will speak to WISE Seattle’s desire to leave a lasting impact on future generations. The focus of this yearly accolade is to honor and recognize a woman in our community that is doing something notable to support young women while aligning with our chapter’s vision and core pillars.

The WOI Winner will ENCOURAGE an inclusive community that promotes diversity and equity, EMPOWER personal and professional growth of those in the sports and events industry while EVOLVING the industry so it continues to thrive in years to come.

“At Seattle Sports, we work to recognize, promote, empower and encourage the talented women we are fortunate to work with on a daily basis,” said Cathy Cangiano, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Bonneville Seattle. “There are so many women impacting our communities through the platform of sports, and through our partnership with the Women of Inspiration Award, we are excited to see these efforts recognized and celebrated.”

Nominations are open to both WISE and non-WISE members and are being accepted until Friday, August 12, 2022. Nominees can be anyone including a coach, mentor, colleague or even you. Three finalists will be selected by the WISE Seattle Board and Women of Inspiration Committee. The public will be able to vote for the winner. The 2022 WISE Seattle Women of Inspiration award winner will be honored by WISE Seattle at its end-of-year event, receive a WISE membership and a cash donation from WISE Seattle and its partners to be distributed to the non-profit or organization of the winners choice to continue to Encourage, Empower and Evolve Women in Sports & Events in our community.
